"Yes, this is happening"

Saturday rolled around and I hadn't really accomplished a lot of the things that I intended to accomplish before Tunde arrived to Hamburg. Actually, the only things that I (along with T.Maz) managed to prepare were 1.) glittery "Max Powers" signs to hold up at the airport and 2.) creating commemorative t-shirts for the event on Spreadshirt. Obviously, I have issues with priorities.

Out of pure spite (my firm belief), Tunde had booked his flight to arrive in Hamburg at 7:30am. This is not only earlier than I want to be up on any given Saturday, it's also pretty much earlier than I (have to) get up most days during the week. T.Maz spent Friday night at my place and we planned to get up dark and early to trek to the airport. We went to bed at 2am. I didn't get much sleep.

I love me some Tunde, but he doesn't travel light. Never has, probably never will. If that Mayan calendar 2012 shit happens next year, he might not make it out of his house because he can't decide what to leave behind. He's only staying for really 10 days (two of which are mostly spent in transit, so 8 really) and this guy brings two suitcases and a backpack. But Tunde stays lookin immaculate, so I forgive him. Plus, it's a good match up with T.Maz because they both take forever to get ready to go somewhere.

The original plan was for me to do some housework after we got back from the airport and that Tunde & T.Maz could hang out. Once we got back home, I was so tired that I really just wanted to go back to bed for a few hours.

But first we had to unpack our presents from Tunde.

He's seriously into Jumpin Jammerz -- the footed pajamas for adults. He brought two pairs with him. In fact, he's so serious about it that he's writing a song about his beef with Snuggies (the blankets with sleeves). Both are equally ridiculous to me, but now I've got my very own royal blue Jumpin Jammerz with monkeys and bananas on them. T.Maz got a pair with pandas.

So there we were on a Saturday morning, three adults in my bedroom wearing fleece footed pajamas. Since that wasn't enough, we convinced Zilv to come out of her room and kick it with us and Tunde loaned her his extra set.

Then we started doing tequila shots...because...well, it just seemed like the thing to do at the time. Plus, Tunde had purchased a bottle of Patrón at the duty free shop. Everyone in the apartment was having a good time. Our cop neighbor upstairs was not (probably because he wasn't able to participate in the "jjamz" action -- also because he's an ass). But he's moving out soon and he always seems to have sand in his vajay...so fuck him.

In the afternoon, we all took naps and planned on going out on the town. Instead, we went to an apartment where some of Zilv's friends live. We were there for a couple of hours, before we decided that we'd rather continue hanging out in pajamas and drinking. We managed to convince Zilv's buddy H. to come back with us. We actually didn't have to do much convincing. We kind of just said, "Hey, you should come have a pajama party with us." And he didn't really ask questions, he just came along.

And then there were five...

I forgot to mention that T.Maz also had a pair of Jumpin Jammerz before she got the ones from Tunde.

The cops came by at about 4am, because we were being a bit loud. I'm pretty sure the cop upstairs called them...and, admittedly, it was a bit justified. However, I imagine it probably looked a bit strange to see this particular group of people.

The next day, I had the worst hangover that I've had in ages.

I'm looking forward to seeing how the rest of the visit goes. I'm taking a break at the moment, since I have to work tomorrow, but I'm sure there are a few more adventures to be had before the week is over.

Trust me, there's no such thing as "footed pajamas for adults". Shouts to Tunde
